Reflecting Life

Reflecting Life
I looked into the deep blue sea

A reflection of someone who looked like me

Peered back from the rippling tide

With emptiness and baron pride

The potential to be all one can be

Grounded by responsible ball and chain.

Whipped into submission by wicker cane

A desire for something more

Hurting each day worse than before.

To complete a mission and reap a reward

and defend success with my battle sword.

Am I helping by not facing truth?

A reality that burns the brightest hue

Maybe we can both learn to love the view.
and find a better version of me and you.
Please want for me more than for myself
Or I”ll remain boxed on this safety shelf.
Ne”er knowing what life could offer me
Unlock these shackles with protective key
and let me live a life less misery.

Destiny Waves

Destiny Waves
So many hearts ache for loved ones lost.

What is the final human cost?

Shipping time without catastrophe,

challenged to bypass misery?

I raise both hands in the air,

surrendering to universal despair.

I”d fly to Aceh, to make a difference today.

Yet terror hangs like sordid overtures;

in fragile lands with hopes of glass.

Makes no sense, are these people dense?

Or, dramatis personae caught in a farce?

What the hell are they fighting for?
A war invoked to push a cause?
My religion is better than yours!
Our words of truth are in a book,
the burden of proof with cunning hook.
Listen rebels keep your own ideals
Fate seals us by a greater force than you.
So if I meet my destiny in a wave,
I”ll dig my own grave thank-you.

Avenante Angel
To My Pa Lynch & Friend Olive

A heavenly body came down to me

And touched my shoulder tenderly

A kindred spirit who knew me well

Soul secrets they would never tell

Arms enfolding me. I felt secure

Clearly sensing, my world assured

Happiness abound and I was found

Calm. At peace. No sound. . . .

Friend through tears I know it’s you
Doreen Virtue
Watching over my daily stew

A melting pot of chores to do

I need you more than ever now

A source of comfort to show me how

To live a simple life with love

A true gift of Manna from you above

Another Word For Mum Is Angel

Precious Mum
To My Precious Mum

Mum I feel your presence, though it’s been awhile

Since your laugh and golden smile

captured my heart and brought me joy

I miss you more with each passing day

Oh what I would give for one more chance…

I would tell you how much I love who you truly are

and take away your pain

You were more than just my Mum

You were my most trusted friend

Mum I was grateful to be there for you in the end

Doreen Virtue
You were there for my first breath as I was there for your last

What a strange irony when a mother-daughter

relationship goes full circle

God took you away so abruptly

and left me feeling like a runaway train

Just goes to show when two souls embrace in time

It’s a miracle how we met to give

the most precious part of ourselves

Mum I know you’re here in a shadow…

a feather on the doorstep…

a rustle in the trees…and when I sneeze…

I hear a silent bless you?
