How to Find Inner Peace Every Day of Your Life

Inner Peace
Okay so you think peace is about protesting about wars and free love in the 60s or something a Buddhist Monk has the privilege of partaking in, all of which has nothing to do with you.

Wrong…Nada… Kaput sky to that way of thinking.

Peace has everything to do with you and a lot less about what is going on around you.

Peace actually starts with you…

Ever noticed some days are better than others purely based on how you have felt about how chaotic or calm your day has been.

The secret is in the knowing that you have the ability to manifest this calm regardless of what is happening around you.

The mind is a powerful tool for creating the peaceful state that makes you feel like your day is going so smoothly.

Here are some tips for getting that Peace you so badly need while the rest of the world can seemingly be going nuts…

Hats off to you my friend listen and put into practice and you are on your way to the Sunny, Happy Road of Peace and Zen.

  1. Start your day with a Meditation.
  2. With or without music is fine but just give yourself 10 minutes of nothingness…I mean do not think about anything, your partner, your family, your dog (although I have to give mine a pat before I meditate or she stares at me through the window until I do….so I pat her and then get on with my meditation)… your argument with your sister.

Be selfish, or what we like to spiritually as “self-full”…I think Oprah coined that one. So set the alarm but do not get up straight away, set it 10 minutes earlier if you have to, remember 10 minutes of nothing keeps the doctor away. J

  3. Schedule time in your day just for YOU
  4. When you think about it you schedule time for just about anyone else who comes your way, your boss, your kids, husband, wives, family, friends…the neighbor who nags you for a cuppa catch up, the list can go on and on.

Please do yourself a favor and set time aside, just half an hour, make it your lunchtime if you have to, but do something for yourself and I don’t mean listen to your colleague’s unrelenting problems.

This is your time, you are important, everything else will be okay if you leave it alone for your allocated time, whatever or whoever it is will not drop off the edge of the earth without you. Get someone to look after the kids while you have a break if your break time is at night.

Again, your break time is not for doing more work, it is for more nothingness, preparing you for the ULTIMATE peace-maker which is 5 minutes of JAM in your life.

The Brahma Kumaris (a peaceful, loving, non-denominational group) call this practice JAM or Just-A-Minute.

  5. Every hour for 5 minutes you are to stop and get your breath
  6. This might not sound possible in your busy schedule, but only 5 minutes in your hour is needed to create peace in your state of mind. This would help you and the company you work for, if you are a 9-5er because when you return to a state of peace, you achieve more in your day…

This is because you have readjusted your conscious awareness and your mind comes back into the body and you cannot overwhelm yourself when you do this. Thereby, it is much easier to stick to your priorities and not get overwhelm with any new information that comes to you throughout the day.

  7. Learn how to say ‘NO’ – Do not over-commit yourself.
  8. Far too many people take emotional blackmail to a whole new level. Do not feel obligated to anyone even if they have done you favors in the past. Give yourself the okay to say ‘no’ even if you don’t have a reason for not wanting to do it, whatever the request may be…Probably a good idea to say ‘no’ on a 4-1 ratio.

Your nearest and dearest people will start to understand that time for all of us, is our biggest asset; they will learn to respect your time and their own.

  9. Make your day the Best yet with your Best Attitude
  10. We all get down from time to time for various reasons. However, don’t let the situation be a hindrance to your daily productivity. Maybe you have had an argument with your boyfriend/girlfriend, but you are responsible for your own emotions and reactions to what has transpired.

Be patient, let it go for now and all will calm down and be revealed in time. Getting churned up about it and arguing your point will only make things worse.

Every day you have the power to put in your best effort. Take the ball and run with it when you realize that you do not have to wait for others to be great- You will BE great.

  11. If it’s too hard, let it go…
  12. Sometimes we love challenge and we endeavor to win at all costs because as human being we want to achieve. However, if you have put in all your best efforts and results still go waning, maybe this is no longer a challenge which you will win…maybe; just maybe it is time to let it go.

By all means if it something you really want put it on the back-burner of your goals and think about a new approach, maybe leave it for a future date to come back to.

You will know whether to let it go permanently when you feel no sorrow that it is gone and you feel relief and you find peace. We are meant to feel passion in our challenge you will get that extra energy and drive to complete your goal.

Trust that you know when pain has taken over your ambition, when you are no longer sensing the good feeling in the situation- your intuition is telling you that it is now time to let things go, even if you are only letting go temporarily. When you ‘let go’ you will find your core peace.

  13. Play music for your soul
  14. Music is the best remedy for finding peace there are a number of great CDs for meditation and for background listening. I can recommend the UK band BLISS which you can download from our website on our main page in Your Music Bliss Box – http://www.personcalculator.com/

Music especially that is written for mind, body, spirit will take you to a very peaceful place free of any outside influences. Play it first thing in the morning- Just 10 minutes of meditation music before getting up for the day will have you feeling peaceful in no time.

  15. Be loving and compassionate to others
  16. You will find this will give you the most peace because love and understanding of all sentient beings allows you to be accepting and tolerant. These virtues keep you in the light and less burdened with anxiety, fear and anger, emotions that disturb peace.

Peace comes when you are free to give love without expectation of return…You will find that the reciprocation in kind occurs naturally in your world anyway. Might not come from the same source, but love will come back to you-

  17. See the beauty in nature and marvel at the simplicity of it.
  18. In the morning meditation I open the blind to see the garden and the birds come down and sit on the balustrade on the back verandah. I put my music on and in this moment I am completely at peace and in tune with Mother Earth.

When you can appreciate the beauty in your surroundings and in the simple acts of nature, when the bird plays in your newly established bird bath, when the dog comes to you for their morning pat and brings the paper to you, when you notice that the bud in your rose garden has opened up to show you it’s glory, this is when you know peace.

There is no place like your ‘secret garden’, the place you go to, to melt away the problems of the day. Just choose a place in nature where you can forget about your worries; the river, the park, the beach, the rain forest anywhere you can be as one with nature-

The natural environment allows you to rejuvenate and momentarily when you have stopped worrying about your problems, you will find the solutions come easily to you.

  19. Learn to be a leader of Peace & magnetize positive energy
  20. Show others how to resolve disputes without resorting to negative emotions. Be less, reactive, less defensive, allow others to have their view and do not judge them. When you are a beacon for peace you emit beautiful, peaceful vibrations around you. This reverberates throughout your environment and you will find your peacefulness effects your surroundings in a very positive way…

Everything fairs better when you are a master of peace, people around you seem happier, your animals have a spring in their step, your plants look greener and everything in general flows better- you feel younger, more energetic and alive.

Your peacefulness will attract other happy, beautiful, peaceful, people, circumstances, opportunities and events.

In peace, negative vibrations are defused and cannot become part of your reality unless you let it. Stand in your own power with peaceful thoughts and anything disturbing will fall away.
